This is well worth checking out. The organisers are careful to make it open only to currently enrolled students, and the very recently graduated: a true opportunity for budding talent.
There is an admirable core of people promoting typography in Poland, for a number of years now. I have had the pleasure of being part of events in Katowice, Cieszyn, and Warsaw – some of them several times – and have always been impressed with the commitment and the professionalism of the local teams. I have been inspired by the vision that is evident, and the collegiality. Although some personalities always stand out, the Polish scene is not the work of a single person, but a growing community of passionate designers, educators, and facilitators.
Poland will be in the news again this year for events in Cieszyn, and in Poznan, and worth every link, every tweet. If you’re in Europe, promise yourself to put one of these events in your calendar.
